UNBELIEVABLE
Here’s a version that sounds like an actual golfer who got put through the wringer at Bandon:
I bought these rain pants before a trip to Bandon Dunes, figuring they’d probably be solid since I’ve ordered Avalon golf/work pants before and have always been impressed with the quality.
What showed up exceeded every expectation I had.
I gave them the ultimate test at Sheep Ranch during what can only be described as a sideways monsoon. We’re talking 30-50 mph coastal winds, rain coming from directions I didn’t know rain could come from, and conditions that had me questioning several life decisions. Through all of it, these pants kept me completely dry and surprisingly warm.
The most impressive part? I wasn’t even wearing pants underneath them. Just the rain pants. No leaks, no damp spots, no swamp-leg situation halfway through the round. They simply worked.
Beyond the weather protection, the fit was spot on. They don’t have that bulky “I’m about to direct air traffic on a runway” rain gear look. They’re comfortable, move well throughout the swing, and honestly look good enough that I wouldn’t think twice about wearing them elsewhere.
In fact, if I found myself at the top of a ski slope tomorrow without ski pants, I’d seriously consider grabbing these instead.
If Avalon rain pants can survive a full round at Sheep Ranch in a Pacific Northwest hurricane impersonation, they can probably handle whatever weather you’re planning to play golf in.
